The Origin
From a single stall in Kochi's spice market
It started in 1972 with a single stall in Kochi's historic Jew Town spice market. G.N. Subramanian, a first-generation entrepreneur from a farming family in Wayanad, noticed that the middlemen were the ones profiting — not the farmers who grew the spices, and not the cooks who used them.
His solution was radical for the time: go directly to the farms. In 1985, he began sourcing turmeric, pepper, and cardamom personally from growers he knew by name, paying above-market rates in exchange for quality and exclusivity.
Today, his grandchildren run the business. The philosophy hasn't changed. We still pay our farmers above-market rates. We still test every single batch in an independent lab. We still refuse to add fillers, dyes, or flavour enhancers to any of our blends.
